New York Pops Kids in the Balcony 2025

Welcome to the 2025 New York Pops Kids in the Balcony Program with The Silo!

Hunt Hill Farm. A sacred place where history weaves itself into every note, where the seeds of dreams are planted and nurtured. It was here, in 1983, that Ruth and Skitch Henderson envisioned something truly remarkable. From their passion and dedication arose the New York Pops, now America’s largest independent orchestra. Four decades later, the Pops, like an old friend, return to their roots, bringing the magic of music full circle.

This year, the Pops invite you to join them for their 42nd Birthday Gala, a celebration of talent, history, and unity, all standing tall on the hallowed stage of Carnegie Hall. Picture this: Diane Warren, Shoshana Bean, Sofia Carson, Taylor Dayne, Ariana DeBose, Micaela Diamond, Brandon Victor Dixon, Angélique Kidjo, LeAnn Rimes, and The War and Treaty, all coming together for one unforgettable night. These legendary names will fill the hall with melodies that inspire, uplift, and remind us of the true power of the arts.

But this experience is more than music; it’s a promise to the future. It’s about giving the children of New Milford and beyond a chance to step into this world—to feel the magic and carry it forward. The 2025 Kids in the Balcony program is about those young dreamers, the next generation of creators, leaders, and storytellers.

The Generosity Behind the Scenes

None of this would be possible without the unwavering dedication of those who understand the power of coming together. For the fourth consecutive year, we extend heartfelt thanks to Mayor Pete Bass and the New Milford Commission on the Arts for proudly sponsoring this program and providing the bus that will carry our children to Carnegie Hall. Their steadfast commitment ensures that every young dreamer is given the chance to step into a world of inspiration.

We owe a debt of gratitude to Anne Swanson, CEO of the New York Pops, whose love and generosity continue to guide this program as a beacon of hope for future generations. Her belief in the transformative power of music reminds us why we do what we do.

And to our cherished supporters, Jennings Oil, Borgatta Photography, SoundKeeper Recordings, and Greca, we offer profound thanks for their contributions to making this event possible. Their support of marketing materials, snacks, and other vital details ensures that every child feels cared for. Together, they remind us that it’s the collective effort of a community that makes moments like these truly extraordinary.

How It Works

Priority access is given to children enrolled in New Milford public schools and local arts and music programs. Notifications regarding ticket allocations will be sent no later than April 10th, 2025. Parents and guardians are encouraged to join their little ones as chaperones, ensuring this remains a safe, positive, and meaningful experience for everyone involved.

Of course, the adventure begins with you. Pre-registration is simple and open now. Visit www.thesilo.org/nypops2025 to secure your child’s spot. Don’t wait too long; seats are limited, but the memories will be limitless.

Building on a Legacy

Ruth Henderson dreamed of this moment, of connecting people through music in ways that would endure for generations. Her efforts, alongside those of her husband Skitch, have gifted us a legacy that echoes in every crescendo, every harmony. This program is a tribute to that vision, an endeavor to ensure that music continues to open doors and bridge gaps in our increasingly fragmented world.

The Final Note

This isn’t just a concert; it’s an odyssey through time and talent, a story that begins at Hunt Hill Farm, resounds at Carnegie Hall, and resonates in the hearts of children forever. It’s proof that when a community works together, magic happens.

Pack your curiosity, your excitement, and your sense of wonder. The Kids in the Balcony program isn’t just an event; it’s a chance to be part of something profound. Because here, at Hunt Hill Farm, music isn’t just heard. It’s lived. It also represents Hunt Hill Farm's unwavering commitment to the achievement of the United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals.

And this year, we all get to live it together.
